Hallbottom Farm, Park Lane, Stokenchurch, Bucks, HP14 3TQ
Hallbottom Farm bed and breakfast is set in its own secluded valley in 10 acres of peaceful English countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within the Chiltern Hills and yet we are only 20 minutes from Oxford, 30 minutes from Heathrow airport and 50 minutes from London. A private chestnut lined drive will lead you to the farmhouse which is surrounded by a beautiful garden with a pond and many wild flowers which attract an array of wildlife. Many different species of birds can be seen including the magnificent red kites. We frequently have deer visiting the garden so don't forget to bring your binoculars.
For those looking for a little more privacy we also have a beautifully decorated self-catering flat attached to the house. Ideal for a romantic break, honeymoon or the business person who needs a little more space and is fed up with hotels and bars. Free wireless internet access is also available in the flat.
The Bucks Chilterns are a walker's paradise as there are countless fantastic walks to be enjoyed. We are close to the ancient Ridgeway and you can walk straight from the garden down the valley along a footpath to the Chilterns way. Transport can be arranged for a pick up to avoid those extra miles!
Midsomer Murders was filmed in the area. Enthusiasts can follow the trail and explore all the different locations where Midsomer Murders has been filmed.
Turville is also just a few miles away and was the location for the TV comedy The Vicar of Dibley.
Just a short walk away there are many charming traditional pubs and restaurants serving outstanding food. Our local is situated at the top of the drive, just a 10 minute walk away, owned and run by the most charming Nepalese people. The menu is delicious and very well priced.
If you're feeling energetic you can make use of our and croquet lawn (for the summer months) or you may prefer to simply sit with a cup of tea in the garden and appreciate the peace and serenity of the valley.
We breed our own horses and compete in many different events. They can be seen grazing in the fields from many of the rooms.
Hallbottom Farm is the ideal haven for those looking for a relaxing break but it is still within easy reach of London, Marlow, Henley, High Wycombe, Thame, Princes Risborough, Aylesbury and Oxford. Oxford's park and ride is just 16 minutes drive away. There is a bus that leaves every 10 minutes to Oxford city centre and central London from Junction 6 M40 which is 5 minutes from here.
